Behind the Scenes: Packing Standards for International Shipping

Foam architecture, magnet-safe packing, and double-boxing to prevent breaks in transit.

International shipping fails when a package has space to build momentum. The goal is simple: nothing moves, nothing rubs, nothing takes a direct hit.
Packing standard 1: Foam architecture (not “fill material”)
- Each part sits in a foam pocket or is blocked with foam walls.
- Fragile tips (hair strands, thin weapons, fingers) never touch the outer box.
- Heavy pieces are isolated so they cannot crush smaller parts.
Packing standard 2: No rubbing, no abrasion
- Resin can micro-scratch when it vibrates against plastic or other parts.
- Parts are separated, wrapped, or bagged to eliminate contact points.
Packing standard 3: Magnet-safe logic
Magnets create two risks: impact stress and unwanted attraction.
- Magnets are placed to avoid snapping into each other through a bag.
- Magnet-facing parts are padded so they cannot “slam” during drops.
Packing standard 4: Double-boxing when it matters
Double boxing is used when the risk profile is higher:
- Large scale statues
- Heavy bases
- Long thin parts
- Long-distance routes with multiple handoffs
Inner box: immobilization. Outer box: impact absorption.
Packing standard 5: Labeling that actually helps
Labels do not stop drops, but they do help sorting:
- Fragile handling icons
- Orientation marking if needed
- Clear separation between documentation and parts
What this prevents
- Broken tips from side impacts
- Bent swords from corner compression
- “Powdered” abrasion on satin surfaces
- Magnet pocket cracking from sudden snaps
Damage policy (operational)
If transit damage happens, the practical goal is resolution:
- photo evidence of the box + parts
- identify whether a reprint, replacement, or repair kit is the fastest path
- ship the solution with tracking
