New 14K resin workflow and QC checklist for better consistency and quality.

The new workflow (high level)

  1. Pre-print prep
    • Resin temperature stabilized (prevents random viscosity drift).
    • File check: wall thickness, drain holes (if hollow), and support contact points reviewed.
  2. Print
    • Orientation prioritized for clean “hero surfaces” and hidden supports.
    • “Fit-critical” parts printed with conservative settings to protect tolerances.
  3. Wash
    • Two-stage rinse to keep residue from redepositing.
    • No shortcut “extra-long bath” that can soften edges over time.
  4. Dry
    • Full dry before cure to prevent glossy film and chalky patches.
  5. Cure
    • Controlled cure time per part type (thin vs thick) to avoid warping and brittleness.

New QC checklist (the gate)

Surface

  • No sticky spots, bloom, or resin residue
  • Seam line visibility checked on key faces (front, chest, and focal planes)
  • Layer artifacts assessed under raking light

Geometry

  • Straightness check for long thin parts (swords, spears, capes’ edges)
  • Pin/slot integrity: no swollen pegs, no crushed sockets

Fit test

  • Dry-fit on assemblies that historically drift
  • Test-fit on magnet pockets and keyed joints

Documentation

  • Batch notes logged (settings + resin lot) when a part is reprinted

Fit tolerance targets (practical)

  • Press-fit pegs: designed to seat without forcing
  • Keyed joints: alignment should “snap into place” by geometry, not pressure
  • Magnet pockets: secure seating, no wobble, no cracking stress

What customers will notice

  • Cleaner surfaces on focal areas
  • Fewer “mystery gaps” on assembly
  • More consistent finishes batch-to-batch
  • Less sanding needed before primer or paint

Before shipping

A QC photo can be provided on request before dispatch, showing the actual parts and fit-critical areas.
